
The Programs
Dance Up! is delivered at two levels. Both are taught at your school by accredited Trainers from a DanceSport Australia Endorsed Provider, and both are free of charge to students and their families.
Level 1 — Certificate Program
An introduction to DanceSport built around games and partner work, with learning disguised as play. Students work through Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates.
- Year levels: Years 5 and 6
- Duration: Up to three terms, minimum four sessions per student
- Session length: 45 to 60 minutes
- Delivery: Accredited Trainer Level 1 or above, at your school
- Timing: In class time, or before or after school
- Cost to students: Free — covered by Sporting Schools funding
- Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates
- School requirements: A hall or cleared space, a sound source, and a teacher on site for the session
Level 2 — Medal Program
A progression for older students with more emphasis on technique, musicality and performance. Students work through Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.
- Year levels: Years 7 and 8
- Duration: Up to three terms, minimum four sessions per student
- Session length: 45 to 60 minutes
- Delivery: Accredited Trainer Level 2, at your school
- Timing: In class time, or before or after school
- Cost to students: Free — covered by Sporting Schools funding
- Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals

Finishing the term
Schools are encouraged to end each term with a display or an in-school competition. This gives every student something to work towards, gives families a reason to come in, and is often the point at which students decide to keep dancing outside school.
