The search box on the Rules page is not a normal website search. You do not have to guess the words the rulebook uses, and you do not have to know which section your answer sits in. Describe your situation the way you would say it to somebody at the desk, and the relevant rules are found for you.

Good questions look like this

• Can my daughter wear a two piece costume in juvenile?
• Can I compete with two different partners on the same day?
• Is a dressmaker's label allowed on my dress?
• Who decides which age group we dance in?

Notice that none of them contains a rule number, and none of them uses the exact words of the rulebook. That is the point.

Making a question work harder

• Say who it is about. "Juvenile", "masters", "recreational" and "professional" all narrow the answer, because the rules often differ by division and age group.
• Say what you want to do. "Wear", "enter", "change partner", "withdraw" - the verb is usually the strongest clue.
• One question at a time. Two questions in one sentence pull the search in two directions. Ask them separately and you will get better answers to both.
• Do not worry about spelling or grammar. It is looking for meaning, not marking your English.

If nothing useful comes back

Try the same question with different words - the rules may call the thing you are describing by another name. A costume is "competition attire", a studio is a "Registered Teaching Facility", an event organiser is a "Competition Organiser".
