SNAPSHOTS 2010-11
Another year of building active, healthy communities.

The Office for Recreation and Sport has compiled a snapshot of achievements of the 2010-11 financial year.  The new SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, STARCLUB and SASI athletes all feature in promoting our 'Active for Life' vision of all South Australians enjoying lives enriched through participation in active recreation and sport.



EVENTS
The 13th Australian Masters Games will be hosted in Adelaide from 7-14 October.  Register now to be part of the action!

Head to the 2011 Trampoline National Championships at ETSA Park 25-29 September to check out some phenomenal aerial athletes.



NEWS
Listen to the new Play by the Rules community service announcement.  Australian sports stars spread the message "sport is for everyone and everyone starts with you!"

Are you Australia's next rowing champion? SASI and the National Rowing Centre of Excellence are looking for young athletes aged 15 years and over to be tested. No rowing experience necessary.


Recent changes to the DonorTec Technology Donation Program means not for profit sporting organisations are now eligible for the Microsoft software donations program.

The Governor’s Multicultural Awards 2011 are now open for nominations from individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions to Multiculturalism in South Australia. Nominations close  31 October 2011 visit Multicultural SA  for further details.  



COUNTDOWN TO LONDON
SASI rowers Chris Morgan and James McRae represented SA proudly in the Men's Quad Scull, winning gold at the recent World Rowing Championships in Slovenia and qualifying the boat for the 2012 Olympic Games. Read more about other recent SASI athlete and coach achievements.

Funding Programs Open Now
Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program
Active recreation and sport clubs, local government and schools can apply for up to $500,000 to develop or upgrade your facilities. $6.581m is available and funding requests must  be matched by the applicant (funding, in-kind, donations, etc). 

Active Club Program
Grassroot active recreation and sport clubs can share in more than $1.1m available.  Apply for up to $10,000 for programs and equipment or up to $20,000 for facilities.
