Subject: 2014 Prohibited List Released [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Good afternoon

Please be advised that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has released the 2014 Prohibited List, which will come into effect on 1January 2014.

The Prohibited List is the international standard that outlines the substances and methods that are prohibited in sport. It is updated annually following an extensive consultation process facilitated by WADA.

For your convenience please find attached to this email a summary of the modifications prepared by WADA. WADA has also published this on their website along with the full List and details on the 2014 monitoring program.

Most changes seek to provide greater clarity to the List, with the majority of amendments being of a technical nature, including re-categorising and improving the terminology of existing substances and methods.

ASADA will be working closely with stakeholders to ensure athletes, support personnel and sporting organisations are ready for the change on 1 January 2014.

We will be sending a communications kit to anti-doping contact officers of sports which we are encouraging them to pass on to their state affiliates, athletes, team managers, medical officials and other support personnel. We will also be pushing information directly to athletes and support personnel through our own communication channels including the ASADA website, and our Twitter andFacebookandpages.

In addition, our education and information resources will be updated by 1 January 2014 to ensure they reflect the new List, and the Check your substances tool will be updated on 20 December 2013.

More information about the List and anti-doping in general can also be found on our:
